When NYSNA comes knocking, calling, texting…

We’ve heard recent reports that LIJ RNs — and their family members! — have received text messages, phone calls, and unannounced home visits from NYSNA. You have the right to say no.

We’ve also heard your concerns about these unwelcome intrusions, and we’ve gotten some questions about how NYSNA obtained your personal information.

Many of you have volunteered that NYSNA is saying that they got your personal information from LIJ. This is false.

LIJ has NOT provided your personal contact information to NYSNA.

We respect your privacy and would not willingly share your home address, phone number, or email (or that of your family members) with any third-party organization.

If you haven’t received this kind of outreach yet from NYSNA, it’s quite possible you’ll get it soon. If NYSNA contacts you or visits you at home, you have the right to:

  • Tell NYSNA organizers to leave you alone.
  • Ignore or decline phone calls and text messages.
  • Tell NYSNA organizers not to bother you and your family at home.

Here’s a message you can send to NYSNA if you’d rather not have NYSNA come knocking, calling, texting, or mailing.

To: Daniel Esakoff, Organizer, NYSNA  (daniel.esakoff@nysna.org  |  917-514-3163)

Daniel,

Please remove my name and contact information from any list you have of LIJ team members as part of your effort to unionize our workplace.

I’m not interested in being part of your union or paying union dues. I’m proud of the work I do for our patients and the way we all work as a team.

Please don’t call or text me or my family, don’t mail me anything, and don’t visit my home or send one of your organizers to try to convince me to vote for NYSNA. And please leave my family alone. We don’t need or want NYSNA at LIJ.
